Here is a link to the jeopardy we are going to play tomorrow morning in class that has a bunch of practice questions for circles.
Good luck! This Friday (April 8th) we will have a test on the following topics related to circles:
- radius of a circle - diameter - circumference - area You need to be able to refer from one to the other. For example, I may give you the radius and ask you to calculate circumference and area, but I could also give you the area and ask you to find circumference. So you need to be comfortable working backwards from the area to find your radius, and then using it to calculate the circumference. Please see the section on "The Circle" to check out videos, formulas and practice questions. For extra help (but please bring your practice sheets and specific questions): - First 20 minutes of lunch tomorrow in room 138 - In the cafeteria at lunch on Wednesday because I am on caf duty and will be there the whole time - Thursday - first 20 minutes of lunch in room 138 - Thursday after school for 30 minutes in room 138
-8 -8 2x = 22 x = 11 I am going to be absent from class tomorrow morning and Mr. Stewart will be replacing me. Overall the quiz went really well on Friday but I noticed some people were making calculation errors because they were forgetting to follow order of operations. Today you will review order of operations with Mr. Stewart by watching this video and complete the worksheet he gives you (Note: there are several order of operations questions on your exam). Tomorrow we will start algebraic expressions that involve multiplication.
Have a good day :) We will be having a brief quiz on Friday on the following topics:
- Monomials, Binomials, Trinomials and Polynomials - Combining Like Terms - Solving an expression when you are told the value of a variable Good luck! You will need to make a memory aid this time as we discussed in class. Please bring your calculator as well.
Topics include: - Discount and tax - Mean, Median, Mode and Range - Fractions (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing) Good luck! Please finish the practice questions that were listed on the board this morning as well as ixl questions Grade 6 AA.1: Calculating Mean, Median Mode and Range. If you need your ixl password send me an email at [email protected]
Don't forget - quiz this Friday on everything we learned this week about ratios and rates. Notes are available here:
For the quiz tomorrow you are allowed to use your notes as well as your practice quiz (but not a printed version of my answers... your own answers). You need your own calculator as well. You cannot use your device during the quiz.
The answers to the practice quiz are posted under the "Representation of a Situation" section. Good luck! |
